Keep Your Eye on the Prize!

The TED video we watched in class today was a very inspirational video. While watching it I found it hard to make notes because I was so drawn into what Brain Stevenson was saying. He was very good at getting his point across. He told a powerful story, a story that inspired him to never drink alcohol, and 52 years later, he still hadn't. He told this story to get the point across, and that point was your identity matters, its what can change the world. He then also says some scary thoughts, that our identity is at risk. He says they are at risk because of not caring, and that we can strenghten our identities by paying attetnion to suffering, instead of ignoring it. He says we must be brave, because this way of finding a identity is a hard path to go on, but the most rewarding. You can not give up when your tired, and when your tired, you can actually change in a way you never thought you could. Keep you eye on the prize, that is the key of this speech, as long as you can do that, you will do very well in this world. Keep your eye on the prize!

Who Won The Debate?

Governor Mitt Romney won the debate. Romney had some great moments during the debate and it seemed to outshine President Barack Obama. Even though Romney was assertive with answering his questions, that seemed to prove that he will go the distance to get what he wants in the election and when he becomes President. People said that many people didn't show up to the debate, including Barack Obama. The debate was totally, hands down in Romney's favor, but I wouldn't count Obama out yet!

New Rules

In the article, New Rules by Thomas Friedham, he expressed how far behind America is going in the world with technology. He expressed how America keeps on using the old sayings such as "work hard and play by the rules, and you will succeed." Those use to work in the older days, but now we need to change our ways of thinking. This article brought many ethos to the paper, Bil Clinton, Barack Obama, Alun Toffler, and Van Tun-Quinlvan. The logos of the article was brilliant to. He expressed again of how the unemployment rate is really low, and that Shanghi in 2010, beat the rest of the world in everything academics. He also played on the emotions with using many quotes, one saying that illeratcy is changing. This article opened up my mind to what the world is becoming.
